Don’t Look Back To Egypt.
As I was praying a few days ago I had an overwhelming sense of the voice of Jesus speaking to me about the months of May, June and July. I sense Jesus speaking about these months being months of preparation and transition. I feel like this is and will be a season of necessary change for many from career pivots, relocation to new places in ministry and shifts in relationships.
I heard the Lord saying to me that this a season where many will journey to their promise land (Judges 2:1). The journey to the promise land is one of preparation, consecration and healing. I specifically heard Jesus saying not to look back at the season in Egypt. For many this new upcoming season might feel uncomfortable and challenging in many ways but I sense the Lord wanting to send support, grace and strength in this area. The enemy might try to use the past and bring up old wounds, triggers and mindsets as a distracting strategy. But stand your ground, receive the grace and the support that Jesus has designated for you as you walk into what’s next (Exodus 23:20-21). I also felt the voice of Jesus wanting to send support through the angelic (Psalm 91:11-13).
The Lord is not only guiding us to our promise land where milk and honey abound, he’s preparing our hearts and equipping us to be stewards of the seasons ahead that will lead us to see fruit in our generations to come. What he’s doing is not something momentary but something generational.
Don’t be discouraged if this season of transition feels raw and vulnerable, this is where Jesus gets to come to give us the strength that we need. Let’s stay attuned to his voice. I felt like Jesus was also speaking about guarding our hearts from the noise, even from the “well intended advise” that might be rooted in fear and logic for many. I believe this is where we invite his steady and strong whisper to be the foundation of this season and the ones to come.
So even if it’s hard, don’t look back on the easier season! Press into where Jesus is inviting us to go!
